Tracy is a fascinating guy. If you can find it, there's an excellent book from the '80s or early '90s by Jim Dullenty titled Harry Tracy: The Last Desperado. There was also a good -- tho mostly fictional -- movie in that period starring Bruce Dern and Gordon Lightfoot as Tracy and Merrill.
